First project. The project's title is a twist on the phrase "tone deaf", with Deth spelled in a metal tradition. The project is split across two sides, TONE and DETH.
TONE is the journey through the darkest recesses of life, followed by the hardening of the mind as it conquers its fears. It begins with the song "Tone Deth", a sharp look into the mind of depression. It is bleak and painful. "Organic Bells" is a funeral march for the body. "Nature Trance" is a forest spirit dance through the delicate landscapes of the soul. "Ethereal "Lullaby" is the gentle, whisper soft farewell to the soul. It is awareness.
DETH is the journey of acceptance as life and death are experienced. It begins with "Drone Asylum", a torturous state of mind. It is the fear of mortality, it is the first signs of death, is suffocating, drowning, claustrophobic, pure insanity. "Empty Space" is Highest Power, Motivation, Hardening, Bravery. "Theory Power" is Acceptance, Relax, Don't Linger On Thoughts, Don't Reject Thoughts, Aware, Peace, Dream, Life. "Hope" is Happiness, Freedom, Death.
This is a concept album based on the Dark Ambient genre of music. The aesthetic is laregely influenced by the LPs "Luxury Problems" by Andy Stott, and "(III)" by Crystal Castles. It was made with Garageband, on a basis of one instrument per track, with no percussion, and no do overs. I feel that by limiting myself in such a way with my first project I can build upon composing and creativity as a skill.
